About the Study

The Process

Through interviews with key stakeholders in the community, primary and secondary data collection and objective third party analysis, Schuyler and Yates Counties will determine the feasibility and resulting impact related to costs and operations of sharing or consolidating individual services or facilities. Additionally, while evaluating the feasibility of shared services, the study will also consider additional alternatives along the continuum of governance up to the feasibility of merging the two counties.

Steering Committee

The process is being overseen by a Steering Committee, with assistance from the Center for Governmental Research (CGR), a nonprofit management consulting organization with expertise in government management, public finance and municipal consolidation processes. Options developed by CGR regarding this study of the two counties will be presented to the Steering Committee in a public meeting.
