Help increase CGR's impact in the community

Support CGR

Whether it’s preparing our region to optimally benefit from the clean energy transition, analyzing the potential impact of voting reform or supporting key local nonprofit organizations, CGR (Center for Governmental Research) has been working hard to enable positive community change in 2024.

Key projects this year included:

  • Assessing the workforce needs for clean energy jobs for the Climate Solutions Accelerator, our regional collective impact organization focused on climate change.
  • In partnership with the Greater Rochester League of Women Voters, weighing the potential impact in New York State of Final Five Voting, which would likely eliminate most party primaries and result in ranked choice voting in general elections.
  • Supporting Hope585 in its Reimagine Initiative to improve support for families and create a community-centered child welfare approach.
  • Assisting the Urban League of Rochester in developing a new strategic plan.
  • Working with Connected Communities to support this neighborhood-focused systems change initiative in the Beechwood and EMMA neighborhoods of Northeast Rochester to derive insights from data.

Our 109-year tradition of serving leaders and communities with rigorous research, keen data analysis, and client-centered collaboration proudly continues. In addition, we are investing in our staff to strengthen new capacities including equity-focused analysis and evaluation and community-based participatory research.

CGR uses philanthropic donations to keep our nonprofit research and consulting practice strong and responsive to our community’s most pressing challenges. We are truly grateful for your support!
