Evaluating the Rochester Peace Collective

CGR was selected to evaluate the progress and impact of about two dozen programs funded under the City of Rochester’s Peace Collective. We and our partner, Rochester Institute of Technology’s Center for Public Safety Initiatives, will use both quantitative data from Key Performance Indicators and qualitative information from program leaders, staff, and participants to explore what has worked well, what can be improved, and how efforts can be sustained to prevent violence, reduce crime and support youth and adults.
The Rochester Peace Collective is beginning its third year of operation and was funded with $5 million from the American Rescue Plan Act. Funded organizations were chosen to provide innovative services and programs with the ability to carry out violence reduction programming skillfully and competently to city residents with an emphasis on intervention and prevention. The programs aim to reduce violence through social-emotional support, re-entry programs, job training and preparation, mediation and conflict resolution, and youth development specifically targeting individuals negatively impacted by the pandemic.
