Claverack Tackles Complexities of Fire Protection Funding

The Town of Claverack has a complex arrangement for providing and funding its fire protection. The Hudson Valley town of six thousand residents is served by five fire departments and has six separate funding entities. CGR was engaged to develop models for the Town, its Village of Philmont and three Fire Districts to consider to simplify the funding process and streamline administrative tasks. The Town has taken action to adjust some of the district boundaries and restructure a service agreement with one of the fire departments. Larger changes to the fire service are under discussion.
